School psychologists frequently navigate unique circumstances associated with providing school psychological services. In this session, school psychologists will have the opportunity to explore contemporary ethical issues that may be encountered in practice. The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) Principles for Professional Ethics (2020) will serve as a foundation to guide decision making in navigating potential ethical dilemmas.

Objectives

Participants will:

  • Review and describe implications from recent special education case law
  • Engage in discussion and problem-solving efforts around contemporary ethical dilemmas
  • Explore avenues for professional advocacy and hone professional advocacy skills.
